Cruising through photos of puppies online isn't just a time suck: Viewing adorable images improves your focus, reports a new study in the journal PLoS One. Participants played the game Operation 44% better after 90 seconds of
oohing and ahhing over shots of baby animals, compared with those who looked at less darling pictures.

Let's all drink some watermelon juice! Well I know I am. A sweet sip that could potentially aid weight loss. In a study, mice were fed a diet high in saturated fat and cholesterol. The critters that also received a supplement of watermelon juice gained 30% less weight than those who didn't get the juice. Researchers think the effect may be due to an amino acid called citrullin, which is also found (in smaller amounts) in garlic, onions, and chickpeas.
