So what was your first thought when you heard Hostess was shutting down? I mean, besides feeling bad for over 18,000 people that will lose their jobs. That's bad. But you thought of running to the store and buying up as many boxes of Twinkies as you could, right? You're not alone. It didn't take too long for stores across the country to sell out of Twinkies and Ding Dongs.

Some entrepreneurial types even drove from store to store, buying up what they could, only to put them up for sale on Craigslist and eBay. Greg Edmonds is selling his stock of 16 boxes of Twinkies and Ding Dongs for $300 on eBay. "I could really use the money since I'm unemployed," he said.

By the way, contrary to popular belief, Twinkies don't last forever. In fact, most bought in stores Friday have an expiration date of early December. Throw them in the freezer (they taste better that way, anyway...or is it just me?)
