Summer is a time when teenage boys want to be outside, with their friends, sleeping late... I don't need to tell you.

I work with children's hospitals across our contry, with a group called "Together for Kids" They introduce me to some very brave boys and girls in the process, and being no stranger to the children's wards in hospitals, I know first hand just how brave these kids are. Or how smart and dedicated the doctors and nurses are.

There's a teenage boy within the sound of my voice tonight that's braved fifteen years of hospital visits and surgery. Last year, the doctors descripbed a surgery to him that would require months in the hospital recovering from surgery to his spine. He'd have to spend his summer in the hospital, but the prospects of leading a more normal life are worth it.

David, if you are listening tonight, we all want you to experience a normal summer night very soon! And to the countless doctors and nurses that work at "Together for Kid's" Hospitals; we appreciate all you do.
